After 4 days of competition, most of the favorites will be there!
European No. 2 and top seed Pagonis qualified easily in straight sets in his first two matches. He will face Briton Arif (11th seed), who defeated Frenchman Pierre Oueda-Castera 6-2, 6-3.
European No. 6 and No. 2 seed Moritz Freitag (Austria) also qualified quite easily, conceding only 6 games in 2 matches. The Austrian will face Frenchman Arthur Salafa, who managed to eliminate two seeded players (European No. 13 Sardinha in three very tight sets, 7-6 in the last, and by eliminating the No. 10 seed Garcia Domenech following a retirement).
Of note was the surprise exit of the European No. 6, No. 3 seed FAZEKAS (quarter-finalist at the Tarbes Petits As), who was eliminated by the Frenchman Igor BRANIA 6/2-7/5.
Lionel Hermans (No. 40 Europe, Belgium) achieved a great performance today by winning against the No. 10 European 6/4-6/4).
The quarter-finals will be played on Friday morning on the courts of the Essonne Tennis Committee.
