Two young prodigies we know well...
The Miami 2025 tournament witnessed some remarkable performances, notably those of Arthur Fils , a promising French player from the Essonne Committee, and Jakub Mensik , a young Czech prodigy. The two players, who both participated in the TIM Essonne tournament organized by the Essonne Committee but in different editions, faced each other in the quarterfinals in Miami, where Mensik defeated Fils 7-6(5), 6-1.

Jakub Mensik continued his rise by winning the tournament, defeating the legendary Novak Djokovic in the final in two tight sets, 7-6(4), 7-6(4). This victory prevented Djokovic from reaching his 100th career title, leaving him with 99 trophies.
Arthur Fils ' run in Miami remains impressive nonetheless. After eliminating world number 2 Alexander Zverev in the round of 16, he demonstrated his potential against Mensik in the quarterfinals. Both players, participants in the 2018 (Arthur) and 2019 (Jakub) TIM tournaments, illustrate the crucial role this tournament plays in the development of international talent.
The Essonne Committee can be proud to see one of its former players shine on the international stage, testifying to the quality of the training provided within the department.
