A lightning start to the year for Alexander Blockx!

From the quarterfinals at Tim to the world's Top 100…



The Belgian had played in the Tim Essonne tournament in 2018 and made a good impression by reaching the quarterfinals. He faced our Frenchman , Arthur Fils , who went on to reach the final.

Blockx continued his junior career and made his ATP Tour debut in 2023. He won his first Challenger title in 2024 in Kobe, defeating world No. 84 Taro Daniel in the semifinals. He then went on to win two more Challenger titles the following year (2025), in Oeiras, Portugal, and Bratislava, Slovakia. These victories propelled him up the world rankings to No. 102.

At the start of 2026, the former Tim Essonne quarter-finalist was pushing himself hard and preparing ideally for the Australian Open by winning the Canberra Challenger. In the semi-finals, he notably defeated former world number 78, Czech player Vit Kopriva. This performance brought him even closer to the symbolic milestone of breaking into the world's top 100, which he reached by winning the final and climbing to world number 95.

He even managed to qualify for the Australian Open, before losing in the first round to Portugal's Jaime Faria, ranked 151st in the world (3-6, 6-3, 3-6, 4-6). Winning three qualifying matches nonetheless demonstrates his impressive progress.
