Exceptional Mirra Andreeva. The 17-year-old Russian prodigy has won her second consecutive WTA 1000 title. After Dubai and Indian Wells, and after defeating Iga Swiatek in the semifinals, she upset world number one Aryna Sabalenka in the final this Sunday (2-6, 6-4, 6-3). She is indeed the sensation everyone predicted. Andreeva embodied the future. She may already be the present.

As a reminder, she participated in the 2020 TIM as the No. 8 seed and lost 6/4 - 7/6 (2) in the semi-final against the Frenchwoman Shanice Roignot.
